The game might be a little short. But it's a massive improvement of what the first Portal was. Still worth it though. Just played some Co-op and that was awesome! You can actually customize you character kind of like in Team Fortress 2. Sure everything is pretty much completely overpriced BUT it's in there. The real deal with co-op is being able to solve awesome puzzles with a friend! You can tell your partner where to place portals, where to stand and basically what to do and when by just pointing and clicking. The puzzles themselves are brilliant and GLaDOS comments are wittier than ever. You can also express your feelings with motions. Which works sort of like in World of Warcraft. Except here you don't type in /dance you open up a menu like in Left 4 Dead. But with motions...Sweet. I've had portal for about a year, maybe two. Who's counting. I didn't buy it on the release date. But I've played Portal 2 more than Portal 1. Which isn't really saying much now that I think of it because Portal 2 offers a much larger story mode and the co-op mode is much richer than the Portal 1 challenge maps.
The first Portal started the internet meme "The cake is a lie" and offered the instant cult song "Still Alive". So does Portal 2 have any of that? Well it has a song (which is freakin' epic!). But a meme? I haven't seen one. But it does however have Cave Johnson. And Wheatley. It amazes me how a game in which you play a character that never talks can have so awesome voice acting. It's really quite brilliant. The game creates these super cool character, much like in a movie, but the cool part is that the main character isn't well explored. It is actually quite a mystery. Which makes the surroundings so much better!
I wish there were more games like this.
There's also a FREE DLC coming this summer. Get excited, people!
